Welcome to Pen to Paid!
Pen to Paid knows writing students are low on free time, sleep, and writing hours. We believe you shouldn't be low on knowledge concerning career readiness.
Don't go through college or your job search alone.
We're here to support you, as you plan now for your writing career.
Nice to Meet You
My name is Morgan Vega. I'm a writer and a career services professional.
I believe that written worlds prepare you for the actual one, and I believe that finding a job out of college shouldn't be so hard.
I majored in English with a Writing Concentration. I did a lot in college: I joined a creative writing group, tutored in the Writing Center, wrote for the newspaper and became an editor, interned at a magazine. Still, my transition from college to career was rough. I felt alone and frustrated and weighed down by student loans.
This site contains everything I wish I would have known in college.
You can be a writer, and you can be a professional.
I began working in higher education and career services upon my graduation from Bridgewater College. Now, as the Recruiting Coordinator at James Madison University, I focus on employer relations and development and strategize with recruiters on their on-campus recruiting activities and events. I am also a graduate student in JMU's Writing, Rhetoric & Technical Communication program, which includes editing, publishing, and design courses. Because of these experiences and my passion for writing, I created Pen to Paid in order to share my career-readiness knowledge with student writers.
When I'm not working, studying, and developing Pen to Paid, I'm writing young adult novels and performing with my band Thieves Beware in downtown Harrisonburg, VA.
